WOW, this year has flown by.

It has been a while, so it’s time to catch up on the blog.

This year has truly been fantastic. It is mind-blowing how fast everything has happened. I have been privileged to be involved with so many different and varied photographic projects. Our model and glamour imaging has continued to grow at a rate like we could never have imagined. We now have 9 images in a national gallery. We have also shot and produced TV commercials. As you know, we were chosen for a feature in the up-and-coming TV pilot series documentary “Models New Orleans.” My special thanks again to everyone who worked so hard on the project. It was a ton of work, but we all had a blast.

We have had several models advance their careers at an expedited rate because of our portfolio images. We get calls all the time now from one of our models screaming about how she got another job because of our pictures. One of our guys just got back from testing with a national clothing line, and is looking at signing with a major agent. Nothing makes us prouder than to know we helped along the way. High Fashion, Glamour, Acting, and Promotional models - we have photographed amateurs to experienced pros and produced over 50,000 frames of portfolio material this year!! The models have gone on to be in movies, ads, print, galleries and one even became a talk show host.

To all the special people we have worked with:

The list is very long, but you all know who you are, and we love you all! Every Model, Actor, Glamour, talent contestant or pageant girl that has worked with us - you all know how much time we put into the shoots. We worked hard to get the images that would get you working as a model or put you ahead of the competition…And it happened!! You are all special to me and I wish you all the best in your continued success.

The studio has continued to grow, and we have expanded in every direction. Equipment, Processing, and Techniques have all improved and been refined to a T. We have an extensive line of backgrounds and sets, and lots of varied outdoor places we shoot to put the finishing touch on our images. Our digital darkroom is fully equipped with the latest in post processing equipment, and our Nikon cameras continue to kick out spectacular work day after day (sorry Canon people, I love and have a little bit of ALL cameras, but I’m a Nikon guy, LOL)

I am so thankful for everything that we have accomplished so far this year, and I wake up every day in awe at what we have accomplished and what is ahead.

Once again I say this: It’s all for you!

The beginning model who wants a photographer that will go the extra mile and work just a little harder to teach and instruct them.

The professional model who wants nothing but spectacular images to set their portfolio apart from the competition.

For the wife who wants a special image made just for her husband.

For the mother who wants something different in graduation shots or portraits of your children.

Or the bride who wants that special flair of fashion and journalism in her bridal images.

It’s all for you!

For the second half of 2008, here we come, hold on tight it’s going to be a fun ride!

Thank you to everyone that we have met and photographed these past months, it has been a blast!

We are excited to announce that Jerry Cable Photography was chosen by Louisiana Model and Talent to be the photographer for the new upcoming pilot series “Models New Orleans” to be aired on television later this year. The series is being created to take a “behind-the-scenes” look at the day in the life of a model.

Check out the Proofs page on our site to see the pictures of model/actess, Ms. Tamera Bennett, from the photo shoot that took place on May 9 and 10, 2008 during the filming for the show. We have had the pleasure of shooting with Tamera before. She is a beautiful model, and great actress and is just full of energy.

As usual, Jerry took some awesome photos. Our special friend, Ms. Caroline Rigney, did all of the makeup and hair styling for all of the sets and blew everyone’s minds. Caroline has been a model/actress for most of her life and she also helped me assemble Tamera’s wardrobe for the shoot. Our very own Kevin Leger did the videography and Justin Newman assisted with props.

A big Thank You goes out to Tamera, Caroline, Justin and Kevin for helping this to be a successful filming and photo shoot. We will keep everyone informed as to when the series will be aired and hope that you watch.

I also want to give a shout out to the models who we did shoots with over the last few weeks. We have been so busy that I didn’t want them to think that I forgot about them.

We did a photo shoot with Ms. Madison Christ, a beautiful model from Denham Springs, Louisiana.  We took Madison to a new location, which made an awesome backdrop for her photos.  She worked very hard and we got some great images of her.

Ms. Christie Rawls from Baton Rouge did a great job on her shoot and we had lots of fun taking pictures of her with the Prowler. Thanks to Mark Lyon and his brother for providing the car for her shoot!!

I also want to thank Cat Leigh for another great shoot. We’ve done some work with Cat before and this shoot rocked!! Wonderful job, Cat.

We will soon be updating our galleries with all of these shoots.  Please check back often.

We have been extremely busy with our "super shoot" Saturdays. Over the past few weeks, we have done some very spectacular photo shoots with models/actors from Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and the Lafayette area. Ms. Amy Dunn from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a beautiful and talented model/actress who is preparing to take the bar exam this summer. Amy worked very hard and did an awesome job at the shoot. Her great images tell all. Good luck, Amy, with your exam...we are thinking about you. We know you will do well!!

Ben Webster is new to the modeling industry, but is an extremely talented model/actor from Denham Springs, Louisiana. He did a wonderful job on his first shoot with us. After the shoot, Ben stated, "I had such a great time today! Yall are wonderful people and I had so much fun working with yall. I feel very accomplished after today, and I hope I have a great future ahead of me! Your work is Amazing and yall really know what yall are doing! Absolutely Professional!!!" Ben loves football and recently made the Baton Rouge Pride football team as their starting wide receiver. Thanks, Ben, for the compliments...we know you will do well in your career.

We also did a fabulous shoot with Ms. Cat Leigh from Lafayette. Cat is beautiful, very ambitious and eager to start her modeling career. She was a trooper and worked very hard during the shoot. We got some great images of Cat and will be posting them on the website very soon. Cat...you are awesome!!! Good job!!

Introducing Ms. Tamera Bennett -- a rising star. We were privileged this weekend to do a photo shoot with a great model/actress. It was a pretty cold day, but she hung with us every step of the way -- chill bumps and all! We started off on location outdoors and got some beautiful shots of Tamera.

Later on in the morning...when the sun got a little too high in the sky...we headed back to the studio and burned up the Nikon with more beautiful images of her.

Tamera is an actress who is well on her way to the top. She played a role in the House of Hope promotional banquet video "Wayward Child" and was cast as "Party Girl" in the comedy TV pilot "Dixie Melodie."

Tamera is currently working as an extra and stand in on the set of "The Open Road" and will play an extra in "12 Rounds" and "Final Destination Four." She has also claimed a speaking role as "Peaches" in the upcoming film "Cheese" which begins production in April.

Tamera has performed in a theatre production where she played a part in Le Petite Chaperone Rouge at the Live Oak French Festival. Tamera -- we can't wait to see you on the big screen!

Thanks, Tamera, you are a blast to work with!

You can see more amazing pictures of Tamera in the modeling section of our gallery.

We offer you the convenience of ordering your prints online through a PayPal account. You can find instructions on how to order through PayPal by going to our "Online Proofs" page. You do not need a PayPal account to order online. If you prefer to order by check or money order, you can view and print an order form from the "Online Proofs" page and mail it to us. Or, we will be happy to take your order over the phone.

If you notice, we offer 8x10 and 8x12 portrait sizes. The reason we offer these two sizes of prints is that the 8x10 format has been a long standing format, dating back decades. The old cameras of the 40s, 50s and 60s, were based on a 4x5 inch negative, and this translated straight into an 8x10 print once it was enlarged. In later years, "medium format" cameras were introduced that used smaller negatives, but still retained much of the original format that made 8x10 enlargements. Then, 35mm cameras came along. These shot a long narrow negative, and when 8x10 enlargements were made of these shots, you would lose some of the picture from both ends.

Digital format: Much like 35mm, the modern digital format cameras shoot a long narrow picture. These fit into a 5x7 enlargement, or an 8x12. You will loose 1 inch at the top, and one at the bottom in an 8x10 enlargement. We offer 8x10 size prints because there are cases where it does not matter if you lose part of the picture in the enlargement. However, you do need to be aware of the cropping factor. When you are viewing proofs from modern high-end digital cameras, they are usually long and narrow, and the proof you see will enlarge straight into a 4x5 with a little cropping, a 5x7 with hardly any cropping, and an 8x12 with no cropping. An 11x14 fits with very little cropping as well.

Please look closely at your proofs, and make sure if you order a certain enlargement, the picture will not be cropped into an important area of your photo. When in doubt, just call us. We can also have full frame 8x10 prints made with white borders on the sides that will maintain every bit of the original image.

Give us a call at (337) 344-4811 with any questions, or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will be glad to help.
